Back Europe With the US ParaSnowboard Team
The final trip of the season is upon us, as we get ready for the Paralympic Games in Italy. We decided to go over a week before the start of games so that we could get our internal clocks set to the time zone and make give us enough time to prepare for the games. Jon and I flew into Munich on Tuesday so that we could get the van, and go to the team's storage unit to pick up all our staff gear needed for the trip. This includes some excercise equipment, some physical therapy e

Winter Canyoneering Along the Arizona Strip, A Day in Rock Canyon.
Exploring the Canyons South of St. George South of St. George along the Arizona Strip lies a collection of obscure canyons, one of these is known as Rock Canyon. Not to be confused with the "other" Rock Canyon located closer to Zion National Park. This region is frequented more by dirt bikers and OHV enthusiasts than by canyoneers, yet it can still provide a quality outing under the right conditions. Weather Variations and Experiences Last year, the temperatures in the area w

Canyoneering and Rock Climbing Practice Day with Triple S Canyoneering
Every month or two the lovely people over at Triple S Canyoneering put on a loosly organized canyoneering practice and skills day out in Leeds. These are typically amazing days to come out meet new canyoneers, refine your own skills and give back by helping some people who may be new to the activity. Storm Impact on the Region A massive storm rolled through the west, dropping much-needed moisture across the region. Thi

Steamboat Springs Final Para Snowboard World Cup
It's been over a decade since I've visited Steamboat Springs for a snowboard event. It was great to be back, see old friends and race in a familiar place. In the lead-up to the event, conditions were predominantly sunny and warm, characteristic of typical spring weather. Fortunately, we had ample opportunity to test our base waxes and overlays under consistent conditions, which allowed us to effectively prepare for the first day. As a result, Jon and I made an accurate wax c

Celebrating a Special Canyoneering Birthday in the Heart of the Canyon
During the weekend, we celebrated the birthday of an exceptional young canyon explorer, Ed Lix. With a large group comes challenges and opportunities. At times we were bottlenecked waiting to get on rope, and other times there were rope set up all over the place and people dropping in from all sides. It was great for us at Sandstone Adventures to get out canyoneering with everyone. Happy Birthday Ed, here's to another year of great adventures. The last Rappel in Bolterguist
